Sound Sultan To Direct Hennessy Artistry’s VIP Finale

Sound Sultan has been announced as the creative
director of the 7th edition ofHennessy Artistry’s
VIP finale which holds at the Landmark Event
Centre in VI, Lagos on Saturday, December 6,
2014.

Sound Sultan, who will coordinate choreographic
performances, is expected to bring to the event
an all-new look and feel with ground breaking
scenery.

Hennessy Artistry 2014 headliners, 2Face and
Wizkidas well as supporting acts, Reminisce,
Skales, Shaydee, Orezi, Yung L, Endia, Yung GreyC,

GIST: Sarz Doesn’t Have Beef With Wizkid- Sarz’s Manager Debunks Rumor

Report has it that top producer Sarz is at war with
Wizkid. The rumors are based off a couple of tweets
from Sarz’s recent Q&A session on Twitter.

A fan asked Sarz if he still produces for Wizkid, he
replied saying “ No Lool…i don’t have his time
anymore.” He also said Wizkid will have to beg him in
order for him to work with the pop star, and then
described a past experience of working with “Jaiye
Jaiye” hitmaker as “painful”.

When Sarz manager was contacted by Pulse, Michael
‘Naija Review’ Ndika stated that Sarz and Wizkid are
still good friends and they don’t have any beef. He said
Sarz was just being sarcastic on Twitter.

“It’s funny how blogs just take everything hook, line
and sinker. Sarz and Wizzy are cool. If you read those
tweets, one would see he Sarz was just being
sarcastic”

Sarz produced the “Jaiye Jaiye” beat in 2013 for
Wizkid.

magazine, about a lot of things – her feelings about

Savage, her husband, her daughter, her religion

Who is Caroline Sam? Caroline Sam is also known
as Maheeda. I grew up in the North and lost my
parents at a very tender age. I am a mother, an
orphan and a musician.

Majority know you as Maheeda, how did you
come about the name? I gave myself the name,
Maheeda because of the meaning. According to
Muslims, it means Blessing. But I chose Maheeda
because I heard a story that Maheeda was a vessel
filled with gold and some people discovered it and
started prospering from the gold. I believe I am
the Maheeda, full of gold and Nigerians would
discover me.

You were once a gospel artiste, what
happened? I think what happened was just
spiritual maturity. At a stage in your life, you have
to take a break and grow up or else everything will
just be wrong. I needed to grow spiritually.
Christians call it born again. I am standing in the
gap not for Christians or for Muslims.

As a born again, it appears you don’t have a
problem exposing your body. Why is that? True,
I don’t have a problem doing that but I think it is
because of my job and I know most Christians
won’t understand it. But I just believe that this is
what I have to do, to get attention, especially when
it comes to my job and I just believe His grace is
enough for me. He loves me more than my
‘nakedness’. If you see God as a Father because He
sees you as a daughter, I would not because of
your nakedness want to ruin you or kill you. That is
how I see God. He understands me. He hates me
but He loves me at the same time.

In your recent video, Naija Bad Girl, why were
you naked? I did the video naked because I want
people including the media to talk about it and that
is happening already.

Are you signed into any record label? I am
signed to my own record label, Yes Ma Record. Ma
is the short form of Maheeda.

From observations, it was discovered that there
is a kind of rivalry between yourself and
Afrocandy. What is going on? I really don’t know,
maybe she feels threatened. I used to feel
threatened as well, it is normal. Sometimes I feel
jealous of Muna, Tiwa Savage. I feel like why are
you having all those things which I don’t have. It is
just normal but it is the ability to control it that
really matters.

How do you relax? Having good sex with my
husband. Massage also helps.

GIST: I Am The First Nigerian Artiste To Make Money From Rap Music – Ruggedman

Rapper, Ruggedman has emphatically declared himself to be
the first Nigerian artiste to make financial returns from
rapping.

The ace entertainer in a recent interview with NET, also
spoke on his relationship with the media, and how it has
helped him remain relevant in the industry since his
emergence.

When asked about making money from music, he said: “Well,
let me clear the first by saying music is paying me because
everything I have made has been from music and a few other
things but mainly it’s been music.”

“Ruggedman is the first Nigerian rap artiste to actually
make money off rap music and is still making money, and
I have an artiste under my label who is also doing well and
he’s the next best thing. Yes, music has paid me and is still
paying me.”

Ruggedy Baba, as he’s fondly called, while speaking on his
media romance, stated:

“The first thing is the fact that I believe in myself, my
creativity, my press and I believe in God.

Basically it will get to a stage where it won’t be about your
talent anymore but your PR; it plays a very big part. ”

“I see the Press and Media as my friend;

I am one of the first Nigerian artistes ever to openly
acknowledge the press.

I remember about 7 years ago, I wore a shirt to a press
conference that had almost all Newspapers names, TV and
Radio stations inscribed on it, ” he added.

Music producer, Sarz has voiced out his
annoyance and displeasure with Wizkid
saying ‘I don’t have his time anymore’ .
Sarz is the music producer responsible for
the production of countless hit singles by
Wizkid, his responsible for songs like
‘samba’, ‘Jaiye Jaiye’, and several others.
So here’s what led to their fall out.
There’s been a cold war between both
parties when Wizkid began to work more
with other producers like Legendury Beatz
and MaleekBerry, and it got worse when
Saeon’s ex-manager Alex Adegbenro while
narrating his version of the Saeon and
Wizkid saga said, ‘And I remember he
gave us a list of producers he could work
with, he said it was either, Samklef, Sarz
or Maleek Berry and we picked Sarz and
then when he heard the beat Sarz made,
he didn’t like it, so he called Sarz and
was like ‘dude, you know my new sound,
why do you keep making beats like this.
So we went back the second time and
Maleek Berry just laced a beat and the
song happened like a freestyle’.
Sarz didn’t take this likely. two days ago,
a twitter interview was organised and Sarz
was asked if he still produce beats for
Wizkid’, and his reply was, ‘ No Lol, I don’t
have his time anymore’ . Probing further,
someone else asked, ‘but you produced
his hennesy artistry song?’ and Sarz
replied saying, ‘Because 2baba begged
me’ . When asked what Wizkid really did Toni
him, Sarz said, ‘Hmmnn so much I can’t
say it all’ . When a fan hinted that both
stars would still work together in future,
Sarz said, ‘he will have to beg me
because it was painful’.

GIST: Joe El Wins His Very First Award At The NMVA 2014

The upcoming artiste Joe El recieves

The NMVA which is reputed for being
one of the most consistent award
ceremonies in the country is in its 8th
consecutive season and this year’s
edition, like others in the past is cause

against the backdrop of violent
eruptions arising from religious,
ethnic, civil and political disputes all
over the world. The NMVA is also

Cassper Nyovest Finally Works With Wizkid

The man behind arguably the biggest
rap single in Africa this year, Cassper
Nyovest spoke of his admiration of
Wizkid and how much he is looking
forward to work with the Nigerian
music star
Wizkid has been in South Africa for
about a week now and it looks like
Cassper has finally gotten his wish.
The 23 year old rapper, told his fans
to look out for sounds from himself
and Wizkid.

HOW PSQUARE’S DAD DIED IN THEIR OMOLE HOME!

The death of Mazi Moses Okoye , the
father of Jude, Paul And Peter Okoye ,
was so sudden that those who saw him
few hours before he died in their Omole
home in Ikeja are still in shock.
According to Encomium, just before the
septugenarian’s tragic death, he was clad
in only singlet and boxers, watching cable
television (Africa Magic) with some
visitors until about 10 pm 2 days ago
(Monday, November 24, 2014) when he
disengaged to his bedroom where he
suddenly collapsed.
He was immediately rushed to a nearby
hospital, but he unfortunately gave up
before doctors attended to him.
The Jos (Plateau state)-based Pa Okoye,
who left Jos for Lagos some two weeks
ago for a knee surgery, normally had
respiratory (breathing) issues, which many
believe might have led to his death.
He had an appointment with his doctor
yesterday (Tuesday, November 25, 2014)
over his recent knee surgery. Before his
death, he had sat upon a thriving “pure
water” and bakery business in Jos. And
only two years ago, Pa Okoye lost his
wife, Josephine to cancer.

“It just didn’t work. She’s a very very busy person. She’s way busier than I was at the time”
Olisa also asked him about his relationship with fashion designer Yvonne Nwosu, Ice Prince said he left Nwosu for the same reason. And he claimed he’s still cool with the Yvonnes.

GIST: Ice Prince Mourns MC Longs Who Died in a Ghastly Car Accident

MC Long was featured in a skit off Ice Prince album “Fire of Zamani”.
MC Longs whose real name is Longji Joseph, a popular comdedian in Jos, Plateau State was involved in a ghastly car accident on November 14, 2014. He died 8 days after the accident.
The crash occurred around Barkin Ladi Local Government Area in Jos.
Ice Prince wrote on his Instagram page along with the pic of the deceased.
“Got up to the sad news that the bro left us to rest in higher placesRest in peace brother #LongsForever #Life”
The late comedian is survived by wife and two kids.

On the kind of man she wants
Sighs) Is there ever an ideal man? I think he’s just someone who understands me because I think that understanding is very key. He is someone with a very high level of understanding, intelligence and tolerance.
With this business of mine, it takes someone who is very patient because some guys would say: “You took a picture and the guy was holding you this way and that…” It’s crazy and it actually takes someone who understands, believes and trusts me totally. That is my definition of an ideal man. He doesn’t need to have all the money in the world. It’s very natural for girls to tell you that they want tall, dark and handsome guys.
But sometimes, it doesn’t work that way. I used to be like that back in the secondary school. My friends and I used to read a lot of Mills and Boons, so we had that idea of some tall, dark and handsome guys. But as you grow older, you understand that it doesn’t work that way. You just need someone who is like your other half.

Why It Took Me 30 Minutes To Produce Oleku – Jesse Jagz

One of Nigeria’s most talented musicians and producers, Jesse Jagz opened up to the Nigerian Tribune on the state of music production .When asked how
he managed to produce Ice Prince’s hit song,
Oleku in 30 minutes, He said.

Sadly, it is so because of technology. It is true, but the time spent has nothing to do with it. We still spent a whole lot of time reproducing, re-voicing and mixing I learned it. I know people think producers are born, but it took me years to understand what it is about. Real production is the ability to be able to compose and arrange music. Unfortunately, what we have today is not production, but beat making. These kids have no idea how to produce. Digital production is just one angle. It
takes years of training. It takes the ear, mind and muscles. E Kelly taught me to use a keyboard, then a PC to produce. But before then, I learned to play drums and piano. So, the ability to play an instrument is always an added advantage. Then, I had to learn to take all this knowledge about music, throw it out the window and just make music that comes from me.

Jesse Jagz Reveals He Looks Up To No One In The Music Industry Except Himself

Jesse Jagz in a recent interview with Nigerian Tribune spoke
at length over an array of subjects and revealed a lot of
things. He spoke about walking out on Chocolate City Music
explaining that it was a personal decision, one that M.I Abaga
his brother wasn’t involved in. He also revealed he doesn’t
do a lot of collaborations because he doesn’t love to share his
music with another artist as he feels it’s a sacred and special
thing for him and working with several other artist wouldn’t
be good for him in the long run as he always wants to fans to
long for more and never have too much of him. When asked
if there’s anyone he looks up to in the industry? He said;

I look up to no one. I am inspired and have been inspired by a
lot of great people, but I look up to me. I don’t want to be like
anyone out there.
